• The Cayman Islands is a British Overseas Territory administered by the Cayman Islands Government.  The Queen of England’s appointed representative, the Governor, is charged with ensuring security and good governance within the Cayman Islands.

• Moody's, one of the world's foremost financial rating agencies, has assigned its very high rating of Aa3 with a stable outlook to the Cayman Islands.  As noted by AM Best in August 2015, the Cayman Islands has “low levels of economic, political and financial risk”.

• Insurance laws in the Cayman Islands have explicit and clear policyholder protections that include the prohibition of 3rd party creditor claims against policyholder assets.

• The Cayman Islands operates on a philosophy of transparency and has cooperation agreements in place with every major international regulatory authority to prevent money laundering and tax evasion.  Under the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act and the Common Reporting Standard, the Cayman Islands has committed to the automatic reporting of financial information of every account maintained in the Cayman Islands.

• The Cayman Islands is a tax-exempt jurisdiction where the government relies on indirect and not direct taxes.  Consequently, the government imposes no income tax, capital gains tax or any wealth tax.
